The organisers of Soundwave 08 are pleased to announce that the Brisbane installment of the festival is now sold out following the lead of Sydney which is also sold out. This is a wake-up call for those in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth to ensure you secure your tickets before they too become sell-out events. Please note there will be no tickets for sale at the door in Sydney & Brisbane. Look out for the 2008 Soundwave Festival compilation CD hitting stores on February 11th courtesy of Shock Records. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus have withdrawn from the festival, this is their statement. “With deep regret, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus has cancelled our upcoming scheduled appearances in Australia in February and March. Unfortunately, many times in this business, situations arise, both personally and professionally, that force acts to alter touring schedules with little or no notice at all. This is one of those times. We apologise to the promoter, and most importantly, to our extremely loyal Australian fans, and promise to do all we can to come back later in the year and put on an incredible rock show for all of you. Thank you sincerely for your understanding.” ------------- We played a little game of fill the blanks with Lou from Socratic who make their Aussie debut on Soundwave, here's the results! Hi, my name is Lou Panico, and I play bass, dance, and sing in Socratic. We've been playing for roughly six years and Soundwave will be our very first visit to Australia. In case you don't know too much about us we have 5 people in the band, we come from New Jersey, USA. Our music is best described as sounding like classic rock and roll mixed with good time modern day fun, our latest release will be called Spread the Rumors which hit stores in March, my favourite track from it would have be Boy In A Magazine. You should be sure to not miss us at Soundwave 08 because we are VERY good looking and a guaranteed a great time. When I think of being in Australia this summer, I think of gorgeous women and I'm most looking forward to meeting all of them. As well as playing i'm most looking forward to watch Mindless Self Indulgence play at the festival because I've been a fan for a very long time but have yet to see them perform. We are currently very excited for our new record and once we've done Soundwave, the plan is to head back on tour in the states. Finally, i'd just like to add that we're super stoked to be a part of this year's festival and can't wait to hit the stage!
