When, where and how did the band
come together
Cody and Johnny were in the blood brothers together for 10 years.
Blood brothers and pretty girls make graves (J's former band) toured
the world and outer space together. Both bb's and pgmg broke up
at the same time and thus a new band was born.
Best description of your sound to
someone who is yet to hear you would be...
Hallucinogenic Dance party with Arthur Rimbaud.
Someone who isn't too familiar with
your stuff, which release would you suggest they start with?
The only release: "Take me to the Sea"
What is your latest release, give
it a plug, tell us about it.
"Take Me to the Sea". Will break your heart and turn you into a
werewolf at the same time.
Favourite song to play live.. and
why?
My favorite song to play live is "Highways of Gold" because there's
a part in it that I get to freestyle parts from various outkast
songs over.
If you could go back in time and write
any one song.. what would it be..
"The times they are a changing" –Bob Dylan. The man wrote the most
influential lyrics to me personally of any artist.
Most memorable moment / best achievement
with the band to date would be...
Hard to pick one specifically but playing Mexico City at Moto Rock
Festival to 2000 kids that had never heard of us before would have
to be one of them.
Have you toured with any of the Soundwave
bands before? If so, give us a quick story..
We toured Antarctica with Alice in chains during this summer. One
of the shows was attended entirely by penguins.
Which bands on the Soundwave lineup
are you most likely to be found partying with after the show?
Probably Alice in Chains. We have a lot of catching up to do after
our last tour.
Who in your band is the party animal?
Give us a quick story on antics of the past..
Probably Donald our new harmonica player. He's a really gnarly starburst
addict has yet to show up to a single show because he keeps OD'ing
on sugar.
This is the first time JL have been
to Australia, but not your first personally, what's the memory most
stuck in your mind.
I came to Australia with the Blood Brothers in 2005. The most enduring
memory I have is walking around the streets of Melbourne at 6 AM
in a Jet lagged zombie state of mind watching people on their way
to work.
Thing you are most looking forward
to about coming to Australia this summer?
Seeing Perth and Adelaide. I didn't get to go to the west coast
last time I was there.
Is there anything you "just have to
do" while you are in Australia?
Wrestle a kangaroo. I heard they are vicious fighters
If the rider fairy was to grant you
one wish, what would be awaiting you backstage at the festival..
My cat Jenkins because she's very comforting after a long day.
