When,
where and how did the band come together : Several
of us played in bands together throughout high school. and after
we all graduated is when we started thinking that we could really
do it.
Best description of your sound to
someone who is yet to hear you would be... finch
sounds like a dump trunk smashing into a wall made of ice cream
cones.
Someone who isn't too familiar with
your stuff, which release would you suggest they start with?
I would have them listen to our second record "say hello to
sunshine" because it's still work that i'm really proud of.
What is your latest release, give
it a plug, tell us about it. It's a 4 song self
titled Ep. for only being 4 songs, it still feels complete at the
end of it. i think we did a good job.
Favourite song to play live.. and
why? "Worms of the earth" because it's
heavy, fast, and really tuff. it always gives me my 2nd wind when
we play long sets on headlining shows.
If you could go back in time and write
any one song.. what would it be.. Duh... that's
easy..."enter sandman"
Most memorable moment / best achievement
with the band to date would be... Playing the conan
o'brien show. i wish i could relive that moment. i've never been
that nervous before. and i never have been since.
Have you toured with any of the Soundwave
bands before? If so, give us a quick story.. We
just toured with From First To Last. they're really funny guys.
So funny that the bass player Manning had to leave the tour early
to go home for a scheduled court date for some sort of felony he
committed. I think sexually abused a farm animal or something.
Which bands on the Soundwave lineup
are you most likely to be found partying with after the show?
a bunch of our friends will be there. NFG, moneen, from first to
last, alkaline trio, i am the avalanche, funeral for a friend. it's
gonna be really fun.
Who in your band is the party animal?
Give us a quick story on antics of the past.. we
used to think we were all party animals until we toured with scary
kids scarring kids. they made us feel like old men. those scary
kids are scary!!!
This will be your first time in Australia,
what have you been told to expect by fans / other bands etc
I was told that it's amazing, and that it totally looks just like
it does in lord of the rings. is it true that crocodile dundee is
the prime minister or president??? just kidding!
Thing you are most looking forward
to about coming to Australia this summer? lying
on the beach, and sight seeing. but i'm sure the shows will be great.
Is there anything you "just have
to do" while you are in Australia? tackle trent
reznor! i love that guy
If the rider fairy was to grant you
one wish, what would be awaiting you backstage at the festival..
i'm easy going. all i ever want is a bottle of glen livet, i love
single malt scotch.
