When, where and how did the band come together
I was tired of my old band, so I posted a personal ad in the local
newspaper, looking for a band that like pina coladas and getting
caught in the rain. When it was answered and we finally arranged
a meeting, I Arrived at the bar to discover it was in fact my band.
Turns out we were meant for each other.
Best description of your sound to someone who is yet to
hear you would be... Soothing, adult contemporary for sociopath's.
Someone who isn't too familiar with your stuff, which release
would you suggest they start with? I would suggest starting
with 'Hot Damn', then proceeding directly to 'The Big Dirty'.
What is your latest release, give it a plug, tell us about
it. Our latest release is 'The Big Dirty' which has a
much more live feel to it than our previous records. It also has
the best songs on it.
Favourite song to play live.. and why? 'The New
Black' (off 'Gutter Phenomenon'), but once we covered Motorhead's
'Ace Of Spades' and that was fun as hell.
If you could go back in time and write any one song.. what
would it be.. The Happy Birthday Song. I'd be a millionaire.
Most memorable moment / best achievement with the band to
date would be... Playing Jimmy Kimmel Live on Halloween
Night 2007. It's a late night talk show here in the states.
Have you toured with any of the Soundwave bands before?
If so, give us a quick story.. No, we never have, so my
story would be a lie.
Which bands on the Soundwave lineup are you most likely
to be found partying with after the show? Lamb Of God and
Unearth. Or Horse The Band. Those guys are so clever and inspiring
I Almost cant believe it. Nor can anyone else.
Who in your band is the party animal? Give us a quick story
on antics of the past.. One time Jordan flew a helicopter
into a gas station. Most people wouldn't say that's a "party"
but he was wearing a funny hat so that's exactly what i'd call it.
You've been to Australia before... What's the memory most
stuck in your mind... Holding a koala bear. It smelled
like a homeless woman. Oh and the first time we had ever seen a
kangaroo it was in the throes of death. it was extremely traumatizing.
Thing you are most looking forward to about coming to Australia
this summer? Exactly that, it being summer. At home in
New York it will probably be negative temperatures.
Is there anything you "just have to do" while
you are in Australia? Play Soundwave, or else we wont
get paid.
If the rider fairy was to grant you one wish, what would
be awaiting you backstage at the festival.. Another rider
fairy probably. I can't imagine what they look like.
You should catch us when we play Soundwave because..
We love being in Australia and it's guaranteed to be one of the
most memorable performances of the day. |
