SIDE PROJECT TURNS SERIOUS

July 10th will see the first show for Melbourne outfit Cola Wars, the band will launch at the Espy's Gershwin Room in Melbourne. With an album in the final stages of pre-production, its all systems go for the rock foursome which features members of both Bodyjar and For Amusement Only. The band will also be embarking on a run of dates during July/Aug with Behind Crimson Eyes taking in VIC and NSW. Support for the July 10 show comes from Fangs, Attack of the Mannequins and Sneako. Already announced for the Coaster Festival on the NSW Central Coast, everybodies favourites The Bronx have announced a few more shows to their Australian tour, as well as their support for the tour. Themselves, in mariachi mode, as Mariachi El Bronx. While under the spell of the infectious mariachi sounds that relentlessly oompah as the soundtrack for Southern California, The Bronx created Mariachi El Bronx as a vehicle for a border bending journey of the senses. Newcastle's Local Resident Failure have just released their latest EP "Can't Polish a Turd" and have made it available as a free download on their MySpace page [Here]. PARAMORE PREPARE BRAND NEW EYES

'brand new eyes' will be the title of the third studio album from Paramore. The band headed to the Hidden Hills of California from January to March to lay it down. The first single Ignorance is expected to be made available to download on July 7th. The album will be released late September in two versions, a standard CD edition as well as a limited edition deluxe package. The deluxe version is limited to 15,000 pieces and includes the album on CD, a 40-page hardcover journal with Hayley Williams’ handwritten lyrics and notes on the album, a color vinyl 7” single with four acoustic songs, a DVD featuring an exclusive making-of documentary (with interviews, behind-the-scenes footage etc.), a 16-page full-color booklet, an exclusive Paramore poster, five limited edition collectible Paramore photos printed on hardstock paper, and a numbered certificate of authenticity. The brand new eyes deluxe version will come packaged in a special edition box and will only be available via www.paramore.net.

SAMIAM AUSTRALIAN TOUR

An integral part of the 90's Bay Area punk explosion that also
spawned bands like Green Day and Jawbreaker, San Francisco's Samiam
continue to tour the world, bringing their highly influential brand of
melodic punk to fans new and old. After early album releases on New Red
Archives, Samiam released their major label debut "Clumsy" in 1994,
followed later by classics "Your Freaking Me Out" and "Astray". Taking
some time out from 2001-04' while members focused on other projects
(Solea, Knapsack), Samiam eventually entered the studio again in 2006
to record their most recent album "Whatever's Got You Down" (Hopeless
Records). This September Samiam will head
down under for their first ever Australian Tour. They'll be joined by
Melbourne's A Death In The Family who have recently returned from a US
