| You
probably shouldn't listen to this one with headphones
and loud, while it seems like a good idea at the time,
my ears are ringing like a bitch. Not my genre of choice,
but impressive enough to stand up and grab my attention,
and certainly stands out from the sea of crap bands trying
their hand at the style but lack the honesty and raw anger
these guys are brewing.. and belting out! |
|
WHO?
The Omen are angry. They also hail from Melbourne and play a brutal
thrashy hardcore sound that will probably make your ears bleed,
out your eyeballs. They began in 2005 and went through various lineup
changes before settling on a solid lineup in 2007. Now with that
lineup they offer up eight tracks of in your face anger.
WHAT?
It takes them just 24 minutes to get through proceedings, and if
your speakers have survived the first listen, you'll probably want
to get straight into round two and go again. There aren't too many
bands who scream their guts out that I can sit through these days,
probably because most bands who do are a bunch of pussies whinging
and whining between their oh so tough screams doing it to "fit
in". And then you have bands like these guys, they avoid the
bullshit, they get to the point and their singer doesn't sound like
a dying cat struggling at every line. You can even understand most
of the words too, so a thumbs up there. Anyway, if it's a hundred
miles an hour brutal, thrashy hardcore with metal influence that
tickles your fancy, quit reading my blabber and start looking into
these guys. Angry lyrics, angry sounds just make sure there are
no breakables nearby.
WHY?
Everyone needs a band that you can crank up loud and get angry with,
or maybe you just wanna piss off your neighbours. Either way, look
into this one if you like it raw, honest and tough as nuts.
