AND BURN - Never Bring A Knife To A Gunfight
-- REMEDY MUSIC --

SUMMARY
7 / 10
A promising sound with a number of very catchy moments, if they are just as energetic live, they'd make for a good show. Thankfully they've laid off the awful screaming that other bands playing a similar sound use way too much. With time and experience they can only keep rising.
WHO?
This Victorian outfit have been around a number of years now, this being their second EP. Their sound is melodic hard rock with hints of punk and a few screamy moments here and there, but thankfully not too many.

WHAT?
This one is a five track EP, kicking off with the title track 'Never Bring A Knife To A Gunfight', quite a catchy number, very dynamic. While we've heard this kinda song loads over the years, these guys don't fall into the trap of trying to 'Americanize' it and rip off their influences. There's a nice Aussie flavour to the vocals. Next up is 'Shock And Damage', nice use of gang vocals in this one, a fast paced number with a great chorus, would be a good one to catch live. 'Path To Destruction' takes things back a notch before building up throughout. A few elements get a little repetitive towards the end of the EP, but not enough to put you off listening. Good choice to just come up with the five tracks, a little more development and experience and they should be ready to pump out a solid album in a year or two.

WHY?
If you like dynamic rock with an Aussie sounding vocalist, solid backing vocals and good hooks, then check these guys out, they take the good elements out of some of the bigger name acts in the genre, and leave behind the annoying parts. Worth a listen, you might just enjoy.

WHEN?
The album is available March 30th on Remedy Music
