Hometown :
Newcastle, NSW, Straya.
Hometown
is best known for :
Newcastle Knights, 1am lockouts, and douchebags with stupid footy
haircuts.
Best
venue in your hometown :
Out of the 3 we're allowed to play at... The Cambridge Hotel.
THE
BAND
How long has the band been going?
3 years too long, and still struggling.
Many
lineup changes along the way?
Just 1, ohh maybe 2, there is 1 guy who says he jammed with us for
the first time, but we didn't have a name then, so i guess that doesn’t
count, but I think he still holds the flame for that... we don't.
How
would you describe your sound to the average person on the street?
Picture
4 dudes who know nothing about music, and picking instruments up for
the first time, and playing really fast, annoying songs that were
written under the influence of some harmful substances.
What's
your most recent release? Tell us a little about it... "Crack
Is The New Black", it has 3 songs on it, and is a 'stick it up your
arse' to the band Short Stack. It basically means that band can get
a career in this industry if you don't have any experience what-so-ever.
Because after all it really is 'who you know' not 'what you know'.
Got
a favourite track that you have released so far?
I guess it would have to be "Trash The World" off the 'Still Sober
After All These Beers' EP, fun song to play, fun to have sex to.
OFF
THE STAGE
What was your first introduction to music that made you think seriously
about playing it?
Pure Massacre by Silverchair was the first riff I learnt, and I guess
I thought "If these idiots can write a song like this, then i can
write one better and earn heaps of money". 15 years later I am still
waiting on both.
What
was your first band name, and what style did you play?
"Mud Monkey", we stole Grinspoon riffs and played them backwards and
wrote words about playing in the school yard and shit... lame.
Most
prized music related item you own? the
Fuck The System 7" by Frenzal Rhomb, it cost me heaps of money, and
now when i try to sell it, no one wants it, so i guess i'm stuck with
it until I die, then my daughter can use it for firewood one day maybe.
The
thing you most look forward to just before a tour is...
sitting on the bus next to smitty and talking about life
The
thing you least look forward to before a tour is...
drinking heaps of beers, and playing heaps bad, and being embarrassed
every time I walk off and on stage.
When
your not doing band related stuff, what are you usually found doing?
working at my minimal wage paying job, or hanging with Mr Cooper.
ON
THE STAGE / ROAD
Best rider item you've ever received without requesting it?
Nothing good yet, still waiting on something interesting other than
alcohol. I'd really like to see something weird like a cricket helmet
filled with water balloons, but instead of water have whale semen
so i can hurl them at the dozens of people who come to watch us.
Favourite
place (city/town/country) you’ve toured… and why?
It would have to be Melbourne, love the bands, love the venues, love
the places to eat, love the people, love the public transport, love
the fact that they are still living in the 19th century with those
silly trains... silly.
Most
memorable show you've played? and why? The
"Crack Is The New Black" ep launch was memorable, best show ever,
the other guys said it was rad, but i accidently consumed to much
apple juice looking liquid and don't remember much of playing, but
we partied after and that was awesome....oh yeah 'The Decline' were
there also, and Dan got thrown out coz i pulled his pants down and
the security guard saw and booted his arse out, then i left...HA.
Worst
'guilty pleasure' artist / song you've come across on a bandmates
iPod?
Not sure, we're not really allowed to touch Smitty's iPod coz it's
one of those new things that has the internet on it, but once i saw
Lady Gaga, and was quite embarrassed, but then stood up like a man
and announced "fuck you cunts, GAGA RULZ"
Who
in your group has the worst “bad habit” on tour, and what
is it?
Sully - he likes to drink bottles of vodka un-announced, one minute
he'll be sitting there recovering from the night before complaining
about being hungover, and the next minute, he'll be hookin into the
bottle again, that guy is the punkest guy i know.
RIGHT
NOW
Where are you?
In
my kitchen letting my dinner go cold, i should really mash these potatoes.
What's
the last song you listened to?
It was "L.O.V.E. by Hi-5, in the car and my daughter yells at us until
we put the cd on, the last decent song was "All Systems Go" by 'Boxcar
Racer'.
Which band or album is currently rockin' your world?
I'm gonna have to mention "I'm Not Gonna Lie To You" by The Decline,
if they read this, you owe me big time... but seriously it's pretty
good aye.
Tell
us a band we should all go and listen to right now?
Wiseheimer, the best band from Newcastle ever, Silverchair pfft, Screaming
Jets pfft, Rubix Cuba pfft.
IF
ONLY...
If you could pick any one album to cover from start to finish, what
would it be and why?
We did 'Punk In Drublic' once, so i don't wanna do another nofx album,
so it would have to be "Supporting Caste" by Propagandhi, I'll never
be that talented as a musician so it's just a dream.
If
you could pick any one band / artist to cover one of your albums from
start to finish, what would it be, and why?
I'd get short stack to cover a variey of our songs, to prove to everybody
that they are the shittest band ever...fucken posers. If
you could pick one band to re-unite so you could play a one-off show
with, who would it be, and why?
Ramones, cause they are the best.....except for johnny.
One
big tour, you can take two currently active bands to support you,
who would you choose, and why?
first band would be 'Wisehemier', coz they know how to party and play
instruments very good, and very handsome aswell. 2nd band would be
'Subject To Change' from melbourne, coz they are nice, and nice is
what will get you places, and very handsome aswell. |
