Best up and coming band from your home town would be : Blackout THE BAND What's the story behind the band name? Suits the lyrics/mindset of the band.. It's a maroon album. When did the band begin and how did it come about? Formed in '04 by myself and josh, just friends wanting to do a heavy band, line up changes blah blah, somewhat solidified in 2005.. went from there. How would you describe your sound to the average Joe on the street? It's heavy, it's like slipknot hahaha but not bogan… What's your current release? Tell us a little about it… These Cities, Our Graves – rerelease by Trial & Error, its got two bonus songs.. It's got 11 songs on it.. Booklet has lyrics and explanations.. that's pretty sweet. What image do you think / hope your music conveys? Something with substance & passion.. In five years time the band will be… Obese. OFF THE STAGE What was your first introduction to music that made you think seriously about playing it? Local shows @ a venue in Hamilton called Youthzone. Hardcore bands playing on the floor to 60 people, was the most REAL thing I have ever fucking seen. What was your first band name and what style did you play? Captain George & the Miserables, we were a street punk band hahaha Tell us three albums you couldn't live without in your collection This is always way to hard. But for the last week I have been needing Brand New (whatever the more recent one is), Ghost Inside – Fury & The Fallen & El-P Fantastic Damage. Halo 3!!!! ON THE STAGE / ROAD What gear do you use? Anything we can get.. prefer a 5150 & a krank for guitars… Favourite place (city/town/country) you've toured… and why? Melbourne – best food!! Or Byron for the sun.. The best show you've ever played was… and why? Because I'm in Australia I'm gonna say in Adelaide at the underground, because we played with the redshore and we love those dudes, and the crowd blew us away, they knew more words than I did!! Who hogs the stereo in the van the most? I think I do… haha so it's mostly bad pop punk After a week in the van/bus on tour which band member will have the messiest section, and what would we most likely find stashed there? Josh, you'd probably find him buried under some clothes sleeping. Who in your group has the worst "bad habit" on tour, and what is it? Ross is our bad habit hahahaha.. Most embarrassing moment on tour? Ross drunk piss last night, in front of another band that was embarrassing. (for $20 bucks..) Give us a good quick 'on the road' story, funny, embarrassing, memorable, whatever… Ross drinking piss is all I got right now, you don't really want anything more than that.. Your manager calls and says the venue you are about to play really wants to keep you happy, what's the first thing you chuck on the rider? Vegan food!!!
