Best up and coming band from your home town would be : Yeah Bears, they rip.

THE BAND
What’s the story behind the band name?

I originally wanted to start a really messed up grind band and call it Run! Hide! And use old school pulp-style artwork on everything, but the other lads liked the name so we used it for this band.

When did the band begin and how did it come about?
Jamie, Cristian and Knox were already jamming together and been through a few drummers and guitarists before I came sauntering along, then we got a new drummer who could actually drum and it was aaaawn.

How would you describe your sound to the average Joe on the street?
Rock and Roll yall.

What’s your current release? Tell us a little about it…
Its our debut self titled EP, 5 tracks of raw rock and roll. All self funded and designed, so now we are BROKE.

What image do you think / hope your music conveys?
We just write songs about things we know and have experienced so hopefully everyone can relate to it in some way.

In five years time the band will be…
Hopefully still a band.

OFF THE STAGE
What was your first introduction to music that made you think seriously about playing it?

Old school hardcore, especially straight edge stuff. It formed the basis of my playing style and how I write songs.

What was your first band name and what style did you play?
My first real band was called Cause For Alarm, then we were called Nothing To Lose, then Urban Army. This was while I was in high school in Tamworth. We actually supported Frenzal Rhomb when they came through. We even did a Mindsnare cover.

Tell us three albums you couldn’t live without in your collection
Lynyrd Skynyrd – Pronounced
Iron Maiden – Killers
Queens of the Stoneage – Songs for the Deaf

Best piece of musical advice you’ve been given
The Blues ain’t nothing but a good man feelin’ down.

Two groups/artists you’d love to take out on the road
Furcurve and probably Riot and the Trauma.

Favourite song of your group?
Leavin Town, which is the newest one.

The thing you most look forward to just before a tour is
Well since we haven’t really been on tour yet I would probably say the thing we most look forward to most is actually going on tour!

The thing you least look forward to before a tour is
Not going on tour?

When your not doing band related stuff, what are you usually found doing?
Looking for a house, I hate living out of a backpack.

ON THE STAGE / ROAD
What gear do you use?

Epiphone Les Paul custom with EMGs and Marshall JCM 900, but I want to get a gold top sooooo bad.

Favourite place (city/town/country) you’ve toured… and why?
We’re itching to get out there so anywhere is better than here really. Pretty keen on going to Melbs.

The best show you’ve ever played was… and why?
We played with the Cancer Bats recently which was pretty cool, but we also had a show with Hell City Glamours where Jamie smashed his $3000 Les Paul because it went out of tune. That was pretty funny.

Who hogs the stereo in the van the most?
Its probably gonna be me because I always seem to have a song everyone NEEDS to listen to, but at least I don’t skip and fast forward through entire albums like Cris!

After a week in the van/bus on tour which band member will have the messiest section, and what would we most likely find stashed there?
Hands down it’s gonna be Jamie, sorry bro that’s the way its gonna be. You’ll prob find about at least 5 empty bottles of jack back there somewhere… and some pink socks.

Who in your group has the worst “bad habit” on tour, and what is it?
Probably Jamie, who owns a guitar tuner but never seems to use it.

Most embarrassing moment on tour?
Being called Jesus about 500000 times a day.

Give us a good quick ‘on the road’ story, funny, embarrassing, memorable, whatever…
Ghost riding. Look that shit up on youtube.

Your manager calls and says the venue you are about to play really wants to keep you happy, what’s the first thing you chuck on the rider?
A Dinosaur.

RIGHT NOW
What’s getting the most spins in your stereo right now?

Every single song by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Also Valient Thorr - Legend of the World, Graf Orlock - Destination Time Yesterday and Baroness - Red album.

Tell us a band or artist everyone should check out and why…
Lynyrd Skynyrd.

If you could change one thing about the music industry today, what would it be?
That ‘dance music’ didn’t exist.

As soon as I’ve finished answering these questions I’m about to…
Go straight back to pimping myself out, it’s a hard life yo.
