Fronted by singer/songwriter Rick Froberg (Hot Snakes, Drive Like Jehu), Brookyln outfit Obits are headed our way for the first time this August. The band have two album releases on the SubPop label, ‘I Blame You‘ (2007), ‘Moody, Standard and Poor‘ (2011), both available locally through Inertia. With a stripped-down rock sound, incorporating elements of surf and garage, the band’s repertoire of three-minute yowlers, sutures a sweet symbiotic sound. The Obits – by the members’ own admission, are a straight-forward proposition. To simply rock you some and to roll you some.
