Cast your mind back, and tell us about the first time you played the Arthouse?
The first time I played the Arty was with my very first band when I was still in high school. It was called Channel 3 and we we’re three country Victorian lads that got a gig on a Sunday. There wasn’t a whole lot of people there but we were just super stoked to be playing the Arthouse!
If you could grab one piece of Arthouse memorabilia at the final show, what would you grab and why?
Part of the wall from the guys dunnies, there’s some rad gig posters in there!
Favourite memory of the venue from the stage?
Either my first gig there as a youngen or the Bodyjar show we did there a few years ago with Blueline Medic and Away From Now, was a rad night!
Favourite memory of the venue as a punter?
Id have to say it was the final Away From Now show in 2006. Was just a really fun night and the line up was grouse too! Ive now mentioned Away From Now a few times hey?
What was it about The Arthouse that has made it stand out from other venues over all these years?
Its run by good people who know what it’s all about, and you can go to the Arthouse to see local or international bands up close and without any bull. Good times! I’ve seen some pretty good dance moves in the early hours of the morning too I must say.
Got anything special up your sleeves for your final time on the Arty stage?
Not that I can deny or confirm, but there maybe some choreographed dance moves. If that doesn’t happen we will make up for it by rocking and rolling while knocking back a few brews to celebrate the Arthouse.
Any last words you want to say about the venue?
Thank you to everyone involved with the venue over the years and for making it one of the best gigs in Oz. It will be missed in a BIG way by a lot of people!
ON YA YOU BLOODY LEGENDS!
