We Came As Romans detail new album, out July

We Came As Romans will release their third full-length album, ‘Tracing Back Roots‘ on July 26th via Equal Vision Records / UNFD. The eleven track album follows ‘Understanding What We’ve Grown To Be‘, which was released in September 2011. The album was recorded back in March with John Feldmann. Phat Meegz hit up NSW over long weekend

Ska punk fans of NSW, throw a mark on the Queens Birthday long weekend as there are a bunch of shows happening as Tassie’s Phat Meegz will be in the state teaming up with Everything I Own Is Broken. On Friday June 7th they’ll be at the Gladstone with Cap a Capo, Swine and Riot 9. Saturday June 8th will be at the Croat Club in Newcastle with Amateur Drunks and Alex Party Cat. On Sunday June 9th there will be a day time show in Newtown at Black Rose Books with Year Of Scummery, Tom Lawson and Alex Party Cat in an all ages affair. Later that evening there’ll be a warehouse show (location will be announced closer to the date) in Sydney with more to be announced. Finally on Monday June 10th things wrap up at Punk Indoors #1 which will be a free arvo / night show at the Town & Country Hotel. Also playing will be Obat Batuk, Ivan and the Backpackers,  Tom Lawson and Alex Party Cat. Phat Meegz new EP ‘Everyone Goes To Melbourne‘ is now available on Paperbag Music’s store [Here] as a free download.

Born Of Osiris resume their tour tonight

Chicago’s Born Of Osiris are midway through their Australian tour, and after a few days off a ready to get back into it for the final few shows. The band has left their mark on Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra so far, tonight they play Fowlers Live in Adelaide, The Hi-Fi in Melbourne tomorrow night, Phoenix Youth Centre in Footscray on Friday, The Bakery in Perth on Saturday and finally YMCA HQ in Leederville on Sunday afternoon to wrap it all up. The Devil Rides Out have released a video clip for their new single ‘The Righteous Walk‘. It is the first of five short films, one for each track on their forthcoming EP ‘Ugly Creatures‘. Each of the five guerilla-style clips are directed by a different local artist, all given zero budget but a completely open brief and total creative control. Hits And Pits 2.0 details & first line up announced

After making it’s way around the country just a couple of months back, rather than wait a whole 12 months to do it all again, the Hits & Pits mini-fest is coming back this November for edition 2.0. There will be a couple of announcements this time around, along with the dates and venues, we can tell you the first four international acts are Boysetsfire, No Fun At All, Jugheads Revenge and Off With Their Heads. The next announcement with more internationals will come in a couple of weeks time.
