Melbourne’s Camp Cope have today released their new single ‘The Opener‘.

The song is the first piece of recorded music from the trio since ‘Keep Growing‘ late last year, and is the first cut from their to-be-announced 2nd LP due out in 2018 on Poison City Records.

The Opener‘ is a no holds barred account of what it’s like to be a woman in the music world. Told through the clever lyrics and winding bass hooks that they have become known for, the track calls on the men who’ve told them to do things every other way but their own. More news on the forthcoming album in a few weeks.

Despite no new music being released so far this year, 2017 has been a belter of a year for Camp Cope. They sold out two shows at the iconic Sydney Opera House as part of the annual Vivid LIVE festival this year, made their touring debut in the United States where they played to adoring crowds across 13 states with US band Worriers, and headlined Melbourne’s Weekender Fest – a festival which they were opening band for two years earlier – and all between countless shows across Australia.

Camp Cope have become a force in music since forming in 2015. Their Australian Music Prize-shortlisted self-titled debut saw critical acclaim from all corners. They’ll be playing cuts from that, as well as previewing their forthcoming 2nd LP at Melbourne’s most stunning venue, The Forum, on Sunday December 3rd with Cash Savage and the Last Drinks, and special guests RVG.

Tickets to their show at The Forum are on sale from the venue.
