News Bits & Pieces

TIRED LION SHARE NEW MUSIC VIDEO
After successful release of their debut album, ‘Dumb Days‘ – Perth rockers Tired Lion have shared a new video for the single ‘Fresh‘.

Much like the tone of the song that was its inspiration, the video for ‘Fresh‘ is drenched in nostalgia. Watching it is like sorting through an assortment of clips found in an old box of VHS tapes – with footage from surreal, quarry landscapes that look they were staged for ’90s era mega videos, to slacker skate tricks and stacks, through to the band themselves carrying out late night shenanigans in car parks, bottle-o’s, car washes and take away shops.

Working with director Matt Sav, the fly-on-the-wall style video was shot in the band’s homeland of Western Australia. When explaining the video, the band said,

The video is an insight into our tour life, champagne KFC, hating each other, carrying on – all the little stuff that nobody sees.

PARADISE CLUB RELEASE NEW SINGLE
Following up from their debut release, Adelaide band Paradise Club are at it again with a new single.

Saturday Night‘ branches further into indie/pop territories and gives a generous taste of the sounds these guys are going to dish up.

Watch the video for the track below.

THE BREEDERS RELEASE NEW SINGLE
The Breeders announce their return to 4AD with the infectious new track, ‘Wait in the Car‘. The single is the first music to be released by the classic line-up behind the iconic album, ‘Last Splash‘.

Wait in the Car‘ marks the welcome reunion of band members Kim and Kelley Deal, Josephine Wiggs and Jim Macpherson. The quartet returned to the stage in 2013 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their platinum-selling record ‘Last Splash‘ and have since been spending time together in the studio working on new material.

PRESS CLUB ANNOUNCE HEADLINE SHOW
Since Press Club started playing live earlier this year they’ve supported the likes of Japandroids, Ali Barter, City Calm Down, Ceres and Tired Lion; played at Bigsound and been added to the lineup for Festival of the Sun, Fairgrounds and NYE On The Hill and today Press Club announce their very own headline show.

Monday November 6th, Melbourne Cup Eve, Press Club take over The Tote Upstairs along with Self Talk and Swayze on hand to help make a racket.

To date, Press Club have self produced and independently released one track, ‘Headwreck‘.

ARKIVE ANNOUNCE NEW EP AND SHARE VIDEO
Prog metal outfit Arkive have announced the release of their second EP, titled ‘Sonder‘ for Friday November 3rd and to celebrate they’ve dropped the music video for second single, ‘Luminous‘.

Vocalist, Court Walters comments;

For me the song is an internal conversation and is a progression, fear, anxiety and acceptance, recognizing and forgiving yourself and then moving forward.
