News Bits & Pieces

THE OCEAN RELEASE NEW SONG
The Ocean have just released their first song since 2015. ‘Turritopsis Dohrnii‘ will appear on the Pelagic Records compilation, ‘In The Twilight, These Rocks Have Teeth‘, to be released on September 29.

While this track is not really new, we are actually currently working on new material. We have consciously decided to take our time with this next album, and we all focused on different stuff for a while, which was really important in order to understand what it is that we are doing and why we’re doing it and why we want to keep doing it. I think we all found the answers now, collectively and each of us individually. And hence the new material is shaping up the right way and we’re very excited about it all. You can expect a new album in 2018… or two.

Have a listen below.

KING PARROT – ‘PISS WRECK’ VIDEO CLIP

PLATONIC CARROT RELEASE DEBUT SINGLE
Emerging from Petersham, in Sydney, Platonic Carrot started as an attempt to create the worst band name possible. Their debut single ‘Everyone’s Gay‘ is a celebration of sexuality and identity. Whilst the overarching message of the song is serious, the lyric is delivered in a sarcastic and sardonic tone.

We wanted to write a song that was so happy, so queer, so fun and so lame that people from all political persuasions would say ‘that song’s so gay’.

Platonic Carrot members are no strangers to the stage. They started as the brainchild of songwriters Kelly Jean and Jackie Latimore who are also in Sydney’s Bandintexas.

The next show in support of the release has Platonic Carrot supporting Rachael Maria Cox, Antonia and the Lazy Susans and SCABZ in Wollongong at RAD for Pride Tide’s 2nd Birthday this Saturday 23rd September.

Listen to the single below.
