Joe Jack Talcum (vocals/guitar) & Dandrew St. Evens (Bass) of legendary U.S. punk band The Dead Milkmen will visit Australia this November playing a set of all your Dead Milkmen favourites under the name Danjo. It is the pairs first visit to Australia.

The musical duo Danjo can be found at the intersection of the groups The Dead Milkmen and The Low Budgets. Joe Genaro (a/k/a Joe Jack Talcum) and Daniel Stevens (a/k/a Dandrew St. Evens) are the two musicians common to both those groups. The pair have been playing music in bands together for two decades, but they have been playing as a duo for only a couple years.

The Dead Milkmen first arrived on the scene in 1983 with their debut LP ‘Big Lizard In My Backyard following in 1985 which featured their first college radio hit ‘Bitchin Camaro‘. They released a further 8 albums including ‘Beelzebubba‘ in 1988 which contained the hit their biggest song ‘Punk Rock Girl‘ that was in high rotation on MTV and also Rage in Australia. Younger ears may be familiar with the song via the Diesel Boy cover.

The band disbanded in 1995 but has been active again from 2004 releasing a further two albums 2011’s ‘The King in Yellow‘ and 2014’s ‘Pretty Music For Pretty People‘. They have a new EP due in October this year entitled ‘Welcome To The End Of The World‘.

Danjo are about to make their international debut this coming November when they tour Australia. The duo got the gig after The Dead Milkmen revealed that their lead singer would not leave the United States for fear that he would never be allowed back in. Despite possessing similar fears, Danjo jumped at the chance to take the Milkmen’s place to tour the “land down under“.
