The Living End today announce that after a string of massive USA and European concerts and festival shows throughout 2017, the legendary punk trio will be returning to Australian shores later this year for a very special, one-off, intimate benefit concert in their hometown of Melbourne.

The show will be held Saturday, October 28 at The Croxton in Melbourne, with proceeds set to be donated to the Wild 2 Free Animal Sanctuary on the NSW South Coast.

The shelter is run by The Living End’s manager, Rae Harvey, and funds raised from the show will go towards replacing a house that was destroyed by a fire on the property in 2016.

Harvey, who runs the shelter alongside her management work with The Living End, was lucky to escape the fire with her partner on July 4 last year, having just moved into the house with dreams of establishing a long term sanctuary for injured and orphaned wildlife, alongside unwanted farm & domestic animals.

The pair plan to rebuild the house and officially re-establish Wild 2 Free there, with funds raised also being used to assist kangaroo orphans being sheltered at a temporary location during the reconstruction process.

Long term plans for the shelter are for it to become a place where no animal will be turned away, where a team of volunteers can provide assistance and care for animals in need, and even includes building a mini hospital.

Wild 2 Free is a registered charity. Any donations will be gratefully accepted via with all funds going directly to animal care and welfare.

The Living End frontman Chris Cheney says the band hopes fans will come along to this special night and support their friend and manager and this great cause.

Rae Harvey has managed TLE for 20 years and aside from being a great manager and friend, she’s also been incredibly passionate about the wellbeing and protection of animals. When her dream of opening up an animal shelter literally went up in flames a year ago naturally we wanted to help. The funds from this gig will go directly towards setting up Wild 2 Free.

While Harvey adds,

I’m overwhelmed with the support and empathy my friends have shown us since that awful night a year ago today. This benefit will go a long way towards helping us help more animals sooner. I’m blown away that not only the bands have generously donated their time, but also the crew, poster artist, publicist, booking agent, ticketing company and venue – thank you all for helping us help them.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased for $50.90 (inc. bf) from Oztix [Here].

Guests on the show are Area 7.
