The Smith Street Band have debuted at #3 on the ARIA Albums chart this week with their new effort ‘More Scared Of You Than You Are Of Me‘. It lands at #2 in the Australian Artist Album chart and #4 on the Digital Albums chart.

Falling In Reverse debuted at #16 in the Albums Chart with ‘Coming Home‘, while Mastodon’sEmperor Of Sand‘ spent its second week in the charts at #24. Bodycount moved to #33 in their second week with ‘Bloodlust‘ while Deez Nuts debuted at #46 with ‘Binge & Purgatory‘.

News Bits & Pieces

HEX TOURING AUSTRALIA THIS WEEK
Wellington-based trio, HEX bring their sharp, anthemic, wholly unapologetic and raw pagan-punk to Australia for the very first time this week.

Tonight you can catch them at Howler in Brunswick. Thursday night they’ll be at The Tote and Saturday at The Eastern in Ballarat. Next week they have shows in Fitzroy, Brisbane and Sydney.

Birthed in 2015 from a musical lineage that spans classical to folk to punk to metal, the trio of Liz Mathews and GG and Kiki Van Newtown have already graced the stages next to Acid King, The Kills, and Dinosaur Jr.

ROYAL BLOOD ANNOUNCE SYDNEY HEADLINE SHOW
After acclaimed sold out concerts in 2014, Royal Blood are back to perform an exclusive one-off headline show at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Thursday 20th July before sharing headline duties at this year’s already sold out Splendour In The Grass.

Tickets for their only Australian headline show go on sale Friday 28th April. Brisbane’s Concrete Surfers will play support.

SCREAMFEEDER – ‘HALF LIES’ VIDEO CLIP
Brisbane indie heavyweights Screamfeeder are back with a new album, ‘Pop Guilt‘ set for release this Friday 21st April via FOUR|FOUR.

THESE NEW SOUTH WHALES RELEASE NEW TRACK
These New South Whales have released a new track, ‘We Don’t Need You Anymore‘ which will appear on their debut LP release later in 2017.

Explaining the track they comment;

Will (bass) quit the band one day so the rest of us got together and wrote a song called We Don’t Need You Anymore. It sounded rubbish without bass though so we asked if he would come back and he did. We told him it’s a song about the government but it’s not. It’s about him.

COCK SPARRER RELEASE NEW ALBUM THIS WEEK
Long running punk band Cock Sparrer will release their sixth full length, ‘Forever‘ this Friday. One would assume that this is the last full length that we will see from these guys; and a fitting one it is indeed.

These best friends wear their hearts on their sleeves, and bring an intensity and emotional component to everything that they do – whether it is recording new tracks, or getting on stage to thoroughly impress thousands of fans with their live performances.
