Melbourne trio Cable Ties have revealed details of their self-titled debut album together with the release of ‘Say What You Mean‘, their new single via a new video clip.

Cable Ties‘ will be available digitally and on vinyl via Poison City Records on Friday May 26th.

Formed in Melbourne in mid 2015, Cable TiesJenny McKechnie (vocals/guitar), Nick Brown (bass) & Shauna Boyle (drums) – have developed a dedicated following with just two self-released 7″ singles in their arsenal.

They released ‘The Producer‘, the first single from this new LP, earlier this year. Now comes ‘Say What You Mean‘ – a 6 minute 35 second punk opus in which McKechnie showcases her vocal range – from seething spoken word rant, to commanding scream.

The band stepped into an icy warehouse in the dead of winter with Paul Maybury (The Pink Tiles, Rocket Science) last year to record the eight tracks that would eventually form their debut album. The record captures the group at the end of their first year of gigging – stretching their songs past breaking point, searching for that joyous rush. The result is 44 minutes of tense, smouldering punk rock.

In the last year Cable Ties have played with the likes of The Peep Tempel, Rocket Science and Batpiss, as well as national support slots with The Kills and Camp Cope. In December they played the opening slot at the Meredith Music Festival.

Cable Ties will celebrate the release of their debut record with a string of East Coast shows this June and July on their album tour, including a hometown album Launch at The Tote on Friday June 23rd. Helping them on this occasion will be Various Asses, Infinite Void, Hexdebt and Cruise Control. Tickets won’t last long for this one. Grab one from the venue.
